ADMISSION AND WITHDRAWALS

  1. Admission to this school is restricted by certain Government regulations and y conditions of age, ability and conduct. Application will be examined and put in the Std. for which they are found fit.

  3. No admission is complete until the Leaving Certificate(L.C) from the last school attended is produced. If a student comes from outside Gujarat. The Leaving Certificate should duly counter signed by the Educational Inspector of the state from where the student comes from. For fresh admission, a copy of the Original Birth Certificate signed by the parent or guardian is required.

  4. The Principal reserves the right to refuse an application without having to assign reasons for his decision.

  5. No leaving certificate will be issued unless applied for by the Parents / Guardian in person or in writing, and until all dues have been paid and Library Books returned. Fees are due so long as no notice of withdrawal is given in writing. If a Leaving Certificate is not asked for within two years, a fee of Rs. 30 is charged for the same for a duplicate certificate.

  6. Pupils failing to pass each standard may be asked to leave the school when the Principal judges it as a sign of inability to cope up with the standard required by the school. Pupil failing twice in the same standard or thrice in different standards must discontinue their studies in the school.

  7. Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience or defiance of authority, or conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student.

  8. Pupils are responsible to the school authorities for their conduct both in and outside the school. Hence misbehavior on public streets and conveyances are liable to the same action.

Applications for the various courses in Arts and Humanities, Commerce, BCA and Sciences are to be submitted online (www.sxca.edu.in) by the date announced on the Website.

Undergraduate Admissions

The college offers several undergraduate programmes in Arts and Humanities, Commerce, Computer Science and Science. A student may choose a particular programme, which will have 3 core subjects. The first core is the subject in which the student will graduate and will be taught in all six semesters, the second core subject will be taught for four semesters, while the third core subject will be taught for the first two semesters. These sets will be displayed prior to admission on the admission portal.

Postgraduate Admissions

Post-Graduation is a four semester programme which focus on specialization in a subject area that enables progression to either higher studies or commence a career of choice. Our PG programmes with industry orientation attract students from across the country. Admissions to PG programmes is based on merit and entrance examination. FAQ’s

Any student who has successfully completed the H.S.C. or its equivalent is eligible to apply. Students from other Boards, such as CBSC, ICSC, IB, etc., or from any foreign boards, are required to obtain a Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) from Gujarat University before seeking admission to St. Xavier’s College.

You need to get an application form from Gujarat University, fill it up and submit it to Gujarat University along with a photocopy of your 12th standard or equivalent mark-sheet, and request them to issue the Provisional Eligibility Certificate.

St. Xavier’s College has been granted Academic Autonomy by the UGC. It means that although St Xavier’s is affiliated to Gujarat University it is free to upgrade, revise and implement its own syllabi and conduct examinations leading to a degree awarded by Gujarat University.

Admissions for all the courses will be strictly based on merit prepared according to percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examinations. Candidates seeking admission must have passed the qualifying examination in ONE ATTEMPT only.

Yes. You can change your college in between, and St. Xavier’s College will issue the NOC whenever you ask for it.

College has separate hostels for men and women. The men’s hostel is situated on campus, whereas the women’s hostel is about 1.5 km away from the College.

Yes, Absolutely. A minimum of 75% attendance is compulsory, failing which your term will not be granted and you will have to repeat the term.

Admission forms are available online. Log on to www.sxca.edu.in. Click on Admissions, register for online application form, and follow the instructions. You can pay application fees through payment gateway (Non Refundable) only.

Original mark sheet of HSC or equivalent, Provisional Eligibility Certificate issued by the Gujarat University (if you have passed your HSC from any other boards), First attempt certificate issued by your school. Caste certificate & other certificates whichever applicable (SC/ST/OBC/Letter from Church Parish Priest/EWS/sports/ extra & co-curricular).

College offers facilities towards your holistic development. Outdoor games, indoor games, counselling, cultural activities, student exchange programmes, Research, Internships, NCC, NSS, Tarumitra, Career Oriented Programmes (COP), Personal Growth Oriented Programme (PGOP), parking (two wheelers only), Wi-Fi, Remedial classes, NET training, etc. These are some of the facilities offered by the College on campus.

In case a student wishes to cancel his/her admission he/she must fill-up an application form and submit the same to the Principal. Your admission will be cancelled immediately.
You just need to apply to the Principal in the prescribed format available in the college office. The original mark sheet will be released at once. Original marksheet is not collected due to the prevailing pandemic.
Soft Skills and Foundation courses are additional subjects designed to help a student to develop basic life skills. Passing in these courses are compulsory, even though your marks from these courses are not counted while calculating CGPA.

The academic calendar is given to students on the first day of college. It is also available on the website, and given in the prospectus. It is also displayed on the notice board.

You can register your grievances with the Principal, the Vice Principals, the Controller of Examinations, Women Development Cell, and HoDs. You can also drop-in your grievances and suggestions in the suggestions box kept in front of College office.
